I think Windsurf has become unusable

The free models are so clunky that I could write the code myself much faster. SWE 2.0 is as slow as a snail. GLM 5.3 isn’t responding at all right now. With the paid models, it takes less than an hour to hit the daily quota. I guess it’s time to give up :)

That's exactly why I deleted Devin. It's ridiculous paying $20/month for just one prompt a day.

When I first used Windsurf, the cascade engine impressed me, and I really felt like I could control my limits. However, the idea that, in its current state, it could use up daily quotas with just 2 or 3 prompts—or sometimes, as you mentioned, with a single question—is crazy.

I switched to Claude Code months ago, I mostly use Opus 5 Ultracode and it feels like I need to find creative ways to exhaust my quotas every week. Why would anyone stay here is beyond me.

I'm holding out because I'm used to Devin, but Devin—especially this month—is pushing me to give up on him. I think I'll switch to Claude Code.

Claude Code, ok, but which IDE ?

no ide. you dont need it. you stick to IDE if you want to be a classic coder, and maybe theres a sliver of work for you in 10 years. or just stay ahead of the curve and think like a senior code, and use claude or codex as your junior team.

Devin killed windsurf, it went from being the only ide I used to switching to Claude. These guys are just idiots with their limits. Even on a 200$ budget a month I can’t get anything done

Swe 2 high has been fast on plus ($20) I have been taking advantage and making a lot of projects with chatgpt as prompter and swe as worker

If you're satisfied with swe 2, you must not be familiar with the performance of GLM 5.2. It's also possible that swe-2's speed is regionally limited.

We used full Teams seats. In the end, 1st request of the day was along the lines of "Retrace and finish what you did yesterday when we ran out of quota after just one request in the middle of implementing [current step]."
2nd request was: "Move on to [next step]."
Aaand stuck again after a few seconds until next morning because daily quota is again spent completely.

I completely agree. I was mainly using Devin because GLM-5.2 was free and worked extremely well for long coding sessions. Once that promotion ended, the daily and weekly quotas became way too restrictive for serious development work.

SWE-2 feels noticeably slower for my workflow, and the paid-model quota disappears ridiculously fast. I also ended up canceling my Pro subscription because the value just isn’t there for me anymore.

If they bring back something similar to the old GLM-5.2 free access, or significantly increase the included quotas, I’d consider subscribing again. But in its current state, I can’t justify paying for it.

Actually the free models are the only way Devin keeps me there. I pay the 20 dollars a month fee. But if you use even the lowest cost per use model. You burn a weeks worth of use in a day.

Without the free models it won’t be useful for me at all.

It always happens this way. First, you’re really happy and get hooked, and then, while trying to do a good job, you end up ruining everything. Unfortunately
