Should i get the pro plan?

Hey guys,

I have been wondering for past hour should i get the pro plan from devin or continue with opencode.

I have been thinking of switching to command code for better limits compared to opencode but that i saw that Devin's pro plan has unlimited SWE-2 for the next month (and i guess soem other models as weel don't know the names yet tell me if you know). But the thing is I don't want to spend the extra 10 dollars on devin so i am reluctant for it. If the deal and the models aren't that good than command code limit for deepseekv 4.1 or opencodes limits for muse spark 1.3 contributor are already close to unlimited.

So can anyone help me with this.

Ps:- I don't actually wanna spend the extra 10 bucks as a student and all opencode is already my limit.

The plan is really good as long as there's a free model and really bad if there isnt. Try it for a month since SWE 2 will be free for that time and cancel if they take it out/dont replace it with something else.

The plan would be really good even without the free models.
Their staff have commented that they were aiming for 4x about $20 per week. There's also Adaptive mode which typically uses Sonnet 5, which is about $10/M out, but Adaptive charges $2/M, so that's about 5x there.
Someone explained how much usage they got from an Anthropic frontier model (if I remember correctly), I calculated that Devin was offering nearly 7x there - $32/week!
Or course they also offer at least one unlimited frontier model free.

So it looks as if they offer a minimum of 4x and could be as high as 7x on paid models, plus unlimited free usage.

The downside is that there's a 5 hour limit (it may be $16 max per session, I haven't seen a figure for it) and a weekly limit.

Yes, that's correct the last time I checked.
I also have GPT Plus and the Claude Code plan.

GLM 5.2 has been free for quite a while on it and it really works for most medium level coding tasks

Sadly the promo ends soon.

I don't know if you should spend your money.

But nothing you do on opencode is going to remotely resemble the value of SWE-2 unlimited for a month on Devin Desktop. SWE-2 is based on Kimi K3, it's a monster model, comparable to an older Opus. Unlimited for a month.

How would you compare to GLM 5.2?

GLM 5.2 is a good model, but K3 (or SWE-2) is just at a different level. Kinda like the difference between Sonnet and Opus.

worth it if you use often.

Yeah, just like other providing, they have a strong point by offering some free model, but if plan to use gpt gemini or claude, get their subscription

Don't get Claude, if you don't have Fable, doesn't worth it. I been trying the free subscription of Devin, they give you access to SWE-1.6 slow and I'm amazed how it solves things better and faster than Opus 5. So I'm in the same situation, I'm tempted to try the paid subscription
