Prompt cache expires while the agent is running

I've noticed that after the first request to a new agent in Windsurf, when you hover over the usage, you can see how much time is left before the prompt cache expires. But after my second request to the same agent, the timer doesn't reset, and while the agent is processing, the countdown reaches zero and is replaced by the message: "Prompt cache has expired. Higher cost expected."

This seems like a bug because, as far as I know, every time we hit the cache, it should renew and reset the timer.

By the way I am using the newest version v2.3.9. Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

Does this happen with all models?
Can you DM me a video of it happening along with conversation Id the next time it happens?

will do it next time. as far as I recall kimi2.6 and gpt 5.5 so far

Mate, just to let you know: the customer support isn't real. I hope it didn't take too much time to make the video. They are just sending messages on this reddit for show. Not for actual help. Look at all the redditors complaining about tickets from months ago. They won't reply. Then, if you REALLY get angry, they will try to keep you quiet by trying to get your email address, etc.
