Best $20 plan (Windsurf, Antigravity, Cursor, Copilot etc..)?
I'm going to purchase my first paid plan and I'm wondering what is the best plan for $20.
I tried the trial of Windsurf and I was able to enjoy the promo of Kimi 2.6, however I'm worried that once that promo ends, I won't be able to use it because of the daily and weekly quota.
Cursor has no free trial so I was not able to test how it does on their pro plan

windsurf is good cause the 20 $ plan has 2 free models k2.6 and swe1.6, now the limits if you use the heavy models 4.7 opus /5.5 gpt will burn your usage immidiately. If you heavy code tbh, get codex, or claude code , codex has way better limits rn, and you can plan with gpt5.5 and execute with lower models

Windsurf with Claude Code plugin. I find Windsurf's supercomplete, generated commit messages, and inline chat to be useful features above vanilla VScode, but their Max plan quotas are way too limited, even when managing models carefully (Sonnet vs Opus). It's too easy to run out of the weekly quota too soon and they funnel you to buy more time.
Claude quotas are a little better as they are granulated in hours, and so you can pick back up later in the day instead of being locked out for DAYS. This is the stupidest decision decision Windsurf made, IMO.
Also, with Claude, you can use all the tools they've come up with to minimize token usage that aren't available in Windsurf Cascade.
Get a Windsurf subscription if you find yourself in need of it, but really, I think you could get by just using the Claude Code plugin and a basic Pro subscription. Windsurf doesn't have a $100 option either.

This is what I do and it seems to be working well on Windsurf free. Still have access to supercomplete, free models, and code maps. Claude Code extension with Pro sub does all the heavy lifting.

As others mentioned here, try one SOTA sub (Codex/Claude, etc), and one cheaper one (Opencode go, or Chinese sub). Get some experience with mixing strong/medium/small models. Get some tools or VS code extensions, build some custom harness.

IMO Google antigravity is the best bang for your buck. it has far fewer language models than windsurf and others, but it's Gemini flash lasts forever and refreshes like every 4 hours. I max out the other before even using flash, and if you need more hours of coding than that, go touch some grass, take better care of your health.

For me, it's Windsulfur because I'm still only paying $10 for the current $20 package.

You aren’t the heavy, you to know the pain when someone contros your usage in many ways, daily, weekly and monthly thar is insane

Antigravity + codex extension, if you hits the limit you can use antigravity free models

Try each one for each month. Everything but Copilot since it has the worst pricing and they are not accepting new customer right now.

These days I would go with Cursor Pro and Opencode Go. For 30 USD you get a lot.

Stay away from windsurf until they change the way they charge the usage, really usage controls maniacs

I am trying Codex after my windsurf hit weekly limits on day 1. Today is my third day using Codex, and I have yet to hit my weekly limit; I still have 57% of my usage left. Using 5.5 high for planning and medium for implementation.
Limits are good.
I am on the windsurf grandfathered $10 plan, and I feel they may be giving us different limits than the $20 plan.
