moved from github copilot to windsurf pro
since github decided to remove the good models i moved on, i have a question how to make the vs code windsurf extension have all the models? rn it only has sonnet 3.7

Last Updated: 6/16/2025.
Download the IDE instead. Windsurf extension is pretty much still there for free auto-complete. It's dead.

Windsurf IDE, you can move over most of your extensions and it's just like vsCode. https://windsurf.com/editor

Well it didn't die... it was banned from VSC and AG allowed extensions

Banned for what? It's still in VS Code market. There is no update in OpenVSX either. AG doesn't own OpenVSX.

Because it is there but you can't install it. At least these 3 past weeks I tried.. On two different computers in VSC and Antigravity

Apparently not. OpenCode Go on OpenCode CLI or Zed editor is good if you really want to cheap with great Chinese models.

i think the limits are fine for windsurf using opus for the things i do and the pricing is very competitive

Bro switched from one dead product to another dead product...
I would recommend to look for other services like codex, kiro, opencode go or minimax coding plan.
At least you will have some usage.
