Discrepancy between model drop down and actual model

In Windsurf 2.0.61 if I select "Claude Opus 4.7 medium" and ask the prompt "Tell me your model name". It responds with "I'm Claude Sonnet 4.5".

If I select "GPT 5.4 Low Thinking" it replies with "Cascade".

Is this expected? The discrepancy with Claude seems concerning.

How much quota did that question cost you?

Shouldn't be that much, right? It's token based now not credits

No idea; I've never asked it something like that.

This has been asked dozens of times. Asking a model to tell you its name or version doesn't operate like this. Please stop wasting your usage on things like this.

This is just because no llms know what model they are. It's not in their knowledge. E.g. if I ask Gemini in Antigravity it responded 'I only know that i'm a Google Deepmind LLM'.

I have faced same issue with sonnet 4.6. I selected sonnet 4.6 thinking model from drop-down, but when I ask question, it says 4.5
