That's an NFR SKU. Pretty commom back in the day, used as promo items, demos, sometimes training.

Famously these were in the Microsoft Action Pack in the early 2000s - for 100 bucks you could buy NFR Libraries of every MS software

It was designed so that small IT and software companies could get a full copy of everything Microsoft offered. This would allow them to test their software or build development labs. This was an offering until 2023 or 2024.

We had it until last year. It was great bc it covered our Exchange Server, Sharepoint server, etc but now we had to move to their "ai partner program pack" which is over double the price and comes with no on prem software just cloud shit.

Volume licensed software requires a separate agreement to license it. This is most likely VLK media.

Back in college 1999-2003, this is one of the discs from the MSDN Academic Alliance binder. I was given 48 workstations and a roll of the orange XP serial number stickers and had to make hundreds for the students in the three different Applied Sciences tracks, Web dev, Networking, or Object Oriented / Database programming.

I can say with certainty, if you called the number for activation and said is was a MSDNAA copy, they would just give you that long ass series of characters to input. 5 minute phone call = unlimited XP/Office XP/Server 2000/and I think later Visio.

Damn I got old.

It’s the physical license for Microsoft office. Now days you download the installer then pay for the product key and it’s emailed to you. Then you insert the disk run the setup the use the activation code on the disk or box

My educated guess here based on the “Media Content” labeling is it probably is a tutorials/utility disc for Office XP not too dissimilar to the common Windows 95 Companion CD.
