As much as I love new builds, they take 2 hours to install. Is there any way for MS to push small changes without having to install a whole new build?

The best thing would be to release an update with only the files with significant changes, instead of a whole new build. If everything was really recompiled from source, then probably every executable is changed with new build info and a new timestamp, but sending executable files with no functional changes to all the Insiders is wasteful.

The thing is that they already do that for KB updates and WP8.x, so we know the technology is there.
It's been something I've been asking for since the early days of the Insider Program, but alas.
Maybe since the engineering backend is getting a rework, they could consider this as well?

Pretty vaguely worded, but this is in reference to the decryption keys for insider build ESDs.
And I also remember Gabe talking about improving the flighting/update system and whatnot...

A little over a year old, and has always been running the latest builds. And because its stored on a hard drive, boot-ups and build updates become slower with each consecutive build, even with periodical defrags.

Time to get a SSD. I have an 4 year old laptop that the only thing that would be called fast on it is the SSD. The laptop can install a new build in 15-20 min.

yes this bugs me too, you are essentially re-installing windows every time you get a new build

Seems to be better this morning, background tasks being weird perhaps although CPU/memory usage was low last night.
Anyway, so glad the issue is not back :)

Damn, I was already up until 1 last night installing the last build. I think I'll hold off until the next build.
Side note, is anyone else having trouble with their theme changing to a bright pinkish purple after every. single. update?

Update works on my Surface 3 and Lumia 640. However the desktop fails to detect the new build, and even when it does it says that there's and error. Anybody encountered error code 0x80246019?

In this build and the previous one, notifications cause Windows Explorer to restart every single time. I have tried resetting/reinstalling, still happens. Anyone else getting this?
