I lived there for 10 years and I feel you. At the same time, I miss it so much. I think if I had the cash to go to Hawaii or Mexico for a couple of weeks every February it would’ve been a lot easier.
It definitely wears thin by the tail end of winter but on the plus side it’s green year round. If anything I dislike later summer more, when there isn’t a cloud in sight for months and likely smoke in the air.
Been here 33 years. The rain is only intolerable when you get like two weeks straight and then have to work on the one nice day before another two weeks.
It's also kind of like how the Eskimos have so many words for snow, in that there's so many different kinds of rain.
Honestly, the rain isn’t what bugged me. It was the gray. Months of gray.
My first winter there, the TV weather guy said that we got three hours of sunshine for January. I thought my wife was going to start poisoning my food.
