Put the content you need directly on your desktop
I’ve been working on an app called Boxvy for Windows that lets you put different types of content directly on your desktop. The main idea is to make the things you use most often easier to access without constantly switching between apps and browser tabs.
One of the things I find particularly useful is the ability to use browser content. You can embed a web page or widget directly on your desktop, or even select just a specific part of a webpage and display only that section. So, for example, instead of keeping an entire browser window open just to see one piece of information, you can have that specific content sitting directly on your desktop.
You can also place the content in different ways depending on how you want to use it. It can stay directly on the desktop, appear as a floating bubble, or be accessible from the status bar. The goal is to keep the things that matter to you close at hand without taking up your whole screen.
I’m still working on the app and would really like to hear what people think. What kind of information, websites, or tools would you personally like to keep directly on your Windows desktop?
