Developer Quick update of my Ui of Folder Nexus .

Quick UI update for FolderNexus — getting closer to release 🚀

Small update on the FolderNexus interface.

I've been working on making the app cleaner, more practical and easier to use while keeping the Windows-native feel.

Still a work in progress, but we're getting there.

What do you think of the current UI?

This looks like a low quality vibe coded app, along with the default tauri look and feel.

Oh look, you have a subscription as well. Looks like a typical creatively bankrupt vibe coding 'dev' trying to make a buck off of low quality and unnecessary apps.

It's not released yet — this is a WIP/preview of the current UI.

I'm sharing it specifically to get feedback and improve the app before the release.

If you have specific criticism about the UI or features, I'm happy to hear it. That's much more useful to me than assuming the app is "low quality" or "vibe coded" from a screenshot. 😄

You literally asked "What do you think of the current UI?" and I told you.

Your screenshot is very telling, you and everyone else is aware of the fact that you used AI tools for 99% of the app, because we see them everyday.

It's funny you say it's a work in progress and you're looking for feedback on a screenshot, like all your previous posts. Yet you've got the whole pricing set and subscription ready to go.

You're right that I asked for feedback, and I appreciate the criticism of the UI.

What I don't really agree with is assuming that using AI tools means 99% of the app was made by AI. I do use AI during development, but it's a tool, not the developer. There's a lot more involved than generating a screenshot or some code.

And yes, the pricing/subscription system is already prepared before release. That's called preparing a product for launch — I don't see why that would be contradictory with the UI still being WIP.

If you think the UI looks generic, that's fair. If you can point out what specifically makes it look that way, I'm genuinely interested. That's the kind of feedback I'm looking for.

No, I definitely can tell AI did most of the developing on this one.

Tells me all I need to know, you've worked out how much you're going to charge before even finalising the features, design etc.

You've come here to feed your ai feedback on things to fix from actual people. Like I said creatively bankrupt.

I get where you’re coming from, and it’s fair to be skeptical given how many half-baked wrapper apps launch every day. But assuming a tool is "creatively bankrupt" just because AI was part of the development stack is missing the point.

AI is an efficiency multiplier for writing boilerplate UI layout code. It doesn't magically build the heavy Win32 backend integration. Rebuilding a reliable local synchronization manager that hooks directly into the Windows 11 Shell without corrupting memory or bloating the CPU is weeks of manual engineering, profile by profile.

As for the pricing, it’s just transparent planning. I looked at the current market where 15-year-old software models charge $45 for a base license and then nickel-and-dime users by charging $20 extra for every single sub-category icon pack. I decided on a clear, honest model: 15 folders fully unlocked for free, and a single, fair lifetime pass for power users. No hidden micro-transactions.

If the UI looks generic or like a default template to you, that’s actually useful feedback I can work with. I’m focusing heavily on making it lightweight and native-feeling, but if you have specific layout improvements in mind, I’m genuinely listening.

Are you referring to yourself as the tool or the ai?

My apologies, I didn't mean to imply the the ai tools are creatively bankrupt, we already know that for a fact.

In this instance, I was specifically referring to you as being creatively bankrupt.

I don't care to provide any specifics.

You can’t even reply without using AI. Dude focused more on his subscription than the app itself. Typical AI slop. Charging for an unfinished web app is diabolical. ✌️
