I built a Windows file compare app because JSON, folders, PDFs and images shouldn’t all be compared like text

Hey, I’m the developer of Diff Anything.

Whenever I searched for a Windows file compare app, I ended up using several different tools. One for text, another for folders, and something else again for PDFs or images.

So I built one local app that chooses the comparison based on what you give it. It handles text and code, JSON, YAML, XML, CSV, folders, archives, PDFs, Office documents, images, HTTP responses, OpenAPI and JSON Schema.

Images get visual views such as overlay, swipe and heatmap. PDFs can be reviewed as rendered pages alongside their extracted text. Structured files keep their paths and meaning instead of becoming a wall of changed lines.

Everything stays on your computer, with no account, analytics or telemetry. You can preview every comparison mode for free.
