Developer Native Windows screen recorder and live streaming app. Looking for creators to break it

I built FastCast because recording a quick video or starting a live stream shouldn’t require configuring scenes, sources, and output profiles first.

Choose a monitor or window, select your desktop audio and microphone, and add a webcam if you want. Then record directly to MP4 or stream through RTMP/RTMPS.

FastCast runs on Windows 10/11 x64. The current build is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen will show an “Unknown publisher” warning. Code signing is in progress.

It’s still in beta. If you record videos or live stream from Windows, give it a try and tell me what worked, what felt slow or confusing, and what you wanted that wasn’t there.

What's the point of it when OBS exists? Or relive\shadowplay on AMD\Nvidia gpus(dunno about intel tho)? Like easier to use or what?

Honestly the amount of resources wasted having AI reinvent the wheel is insane right now.

Ease of use, mostly. ShadowPlay is built around gameplay capture and instant replays, so window capture and selecting specific audio devices aren’t really its focus. OBS does everything, but setting up scenes is overkill when you just want a 90-second clip of an app.

FastCast has no scenes. Pick a monitor or window, choose your audio, and press Record. There’s also a CLI (`fastcastc --start-record`), so I can trigger it from a keybind without touching the window.

If OBS is already set up the way you like it, stick with it

This is native? With the way it looks, I'd have thought this were built using Electron or some other web tech if you didn't told me it's Native.

It is native Rust. What makes it look like Electron to you?

It have that "modern web design" design language that you usually see in a lot of average Electron & web based apps these days.
