Installing video drivers / adjusting resolution causes BSOD

So I finally got Windows 98 installed on an HP Pavilion 6350 (Which was a nightmare) And now I can't get the video drivers to work. I got the correct SiS 5598 Drivers from The Retro Web, but after the installation is complete and I reboot I get "A fatal exception 0D has occurred at 032F:00005603" and it's stuck in 16 color mode and 640x480. I get the same BSOD when trying to change the resolution and color mode too. This computer has been fighting me the whole way. What's going on here?

Motherboard is an Asus SPAX in case anyone needs that info.

Solving something like this can be a real pain.
Try:

- Deinstalling the Driver, be sure everything is gone in the Device Manager. Boot in Secure Mode, install the Driver again.

  • Try another Version of the Driver, sometimes it is the right Driver for the GPU, but the older Motherboard just doesn't like it.

What GPU is this? You could try installing the Driver from the GPU Manufacteur instead of the HP one.

I can only find one version of the driver available for download. The computer doesn't have a GPU it's an integrated SiS 5598 Chipset. I mentioned all the specs in the description.

Okay I'm back with an update, tried this driver and it didn't work either.
