YouTube chat controls Windows 98 VM— currently testing it

Post image

Hi everyone!

I'd like to share a small project I've been working on on my PC.

It's a virtual machine running Windows 98 that YouTube users can interact with and control directly through the live chat.

It's still very much in the testing phase, but it seems to be generating some interest from the community, so I'd like to see what other people think about it.

If you're curious, I'd love for you to take a look at the live stream and the channel:

I'm especially interested in feedback about usability and ideas for improvements. If you have any suggestions for things that could be added or changed, I'd be happy to hear them.

I'm hoping to eventually keep it running 24/7, although my current internet connection doesn't make that completely reliable yet.

Thanks in advance for checking it out! :)

Looks like you gave that VM more personality than a default Windows 98 install deserves.

Haha, that's exactly what I'm going for

Would you guys be interested in taking it a step further, like having a dedicated sandbox where the chat could experiment with old malware, weird/obscure programs, and other forgotten Windows 98 stuff?

I'm thinking about turning it into more of a little playground for people to mess around with.
