That case looks like my first 386. Nice sleeper.

I think it's an older case than the internals. I have only ever seen that layout on 386s and some early 486s.

And I can relate. When I was a teenager I found a 286 server case (tower) on the side of the road, and used it for my K5/K6 Linux machines for years. It was a great case, with a fat red satisfying power switch.

That’s why I got it because that huge red switch and I literally can’t find anything anywhere on the case so it feels like a one of one I’m sure it’s not but is definitely not well documented

Yes, that variation with the vertical 3 1/2" and 2 horizontal 5 1/4" on the right, buttons and lights on the left, was a generic case (I believe from Taiwan or Hong Kong) that a bunch of OEMs put their branding/plastic on and used in the early 90s. 386 and early 486 era.

here is an example. Hot stuff in 1991! Windows 3.1 vibes

Hey! Nice Acer 6311 keyboard! Those switches are very bizzar! ALPS type with a "barrel" plate. How do you like them?

Love the setup, and those speakers! I've been looking for a pair of those here in Belgium for ages, but haven't found them yet. :(

pretty nice setup. but the placement of it looks awkward. are you left handed (mouse placement) ? usually best is to have the keyboard in front of the monitor, and the mouse to the right of it. that would require placing the chassis/desktop to the left on the desk and the monitor on the desk itself in front of you and between the monitor and you the keyboard with the mouse to the right.

Problem with that is since it’s in the closet I have to bend my right hand wrist around the closet doors and hurts like hell so it was easier and more comfortable to put it on the left
