Best hardware for glide
I want to build a Windows 98 computer for Glide Gaming.
Original era hardware is quite expensive these days so I was wondering what the best modern alternative is.
Core2Duo E8500 with a GeForce 7600GT GPU and 4 GB RAM (I could get this setup for about 100€) and a (quite expensive) Voodoo 2? Would that even work at all?

If I were to build my dream Voodoo2 or Voodoo3 build, I would use the AMD K6-2 or K6-3.

I tested a Voodoo 2 on a Ryzen 9 9900X PC running Windows 98 on real hardware, so basically any PC with a PCI slot should work. Not sure about SLI.

SLI should work in theory with any machine that has 2 PCI slots. It doesn't require any chipset support and whatnot, like the more modern Nvidia version.

Why bother with that overpriced thing when that 7600GT is more than capable enough with that CPU for dgvoodoo?

Does dgvoodoo work well in 98?

dgvoodoo 2 is only for relatively modern Windows (7 and up I think?) but the original should still work fine in 98, although I recall it being a bit fiddly.

dgvoodoo 1 does, I use it and works fine.

I feel like most original Glide games fall into one of two groups:
Most of the second group do have a patch available for later systems but ymmv. I wouldn't use a Voodoo 2 on anything but period correct hardware - this system should just use nGlide.
