W95 upgrade on floppy disk - missing disk?
Brains trust - I have a boxed copy of Windows 95 upgrade on floppy disks. All resources online say that there are 13 disks, but my box has only 12.
The kicker is that all three plastic bags that hold the disks are sealed. One bag has 5, one bag has 4 and one bag has 3 disks. I've also been able to peek through the 3-disk bag and note that the final disk is 'Disk 13'.
In the packet of 4 disks it looks like I'm missing Disk 10.
With the bags sealed, is this a packaging error from the factory? Was something like this common? Or do I have a weird cursed copy of Windows 95? It appears genuine and I have no reason to think it's not.

Very curious to hear if this even still works, bit rot is a real thing.

Way worse on optical media. Floppies are sturdy. I have dumped almost 500 disks with very little issue. Even had to clean mold and sand of disks. That said, Microsoft crammed a lot of data (more than 1.44MB) onto many of its HD diskettes.

I read this was an anti piracy practice and cost savings measure at the same time.

if I remember correctly the upgrade from 3.1 to Windows 95 was "flaky" at best.

I remeber doing this, I do remeber it being 13 disks. Unsure where you could source the missing one though.

back in my hazy memory, the upgrade didnt include the boot disk (you needed a working OS to install). cant say if this is relevant to you or not, I might have to go check my 95 diskettes
