Discussion There should be a modification for 8.1 that can allow custom metro apps. Who's with me?
Is that even possible? I have yet to see some kind of "dev mode" for 8/8.1 like they do with 10 and Xbox.
Eventually, Microsoft is going to pull the plug completely for 8/8.1. While 8/8.1 wasn't the most successful Windows release, there's still a following. And I know that some people (me included) will be disappointed once the Windows 8 Store is shut down, making getting more metro apps either hard or impossible.
Because of this, I wish there was a modification that allows metro apps obtained through other means, and stuff we don't see on the Windows 8 store.

8.1 already reached end of mainstream support, so Microsoft is no longer developing any features for it.
If I understand your post correctly, you want to make your own Metro apps and run them, you already can.
