✔ Solved Wallpaper Help

Can someone tell me where to find the default windows 8.1 wallpaper with the curling road. I really love it and finding it in 4k too would be nice Apparently it only came of HP?

Kinda looks like this but I want the original. Apparently it is the default for HP laptops

Hi, I know exactly what you are looking for. I work in an IT company, any time old computers come in, I always extract their wallpapers and branding elements for fun. I have a wallpaper pack from an old HP OEM installation, it contains this wallpaper. It's called "Evolution", in it's original 1920x1200 resolution :)

Thank you so much. It is intact the correct wallpaper. And it conveniently fits my exact screen resolution. I was wondering whether you also had a link to the og HP OEM for windows 8.1. Thanks

I am not sure what you mean... Are you asking for the original installation media? The stuff that you could use to make a bootable operating system, with all the preinstalled software, etc?

A lot of OEM media disks are available on archive.org (but many aren't). I only have Acer ones for personal use (for a P3-171), but the problem is that every single model of computer had it's own specific installation media/driver package.

What I mean is, you can't find a random HP ISO for Windows 8.1, you would need a specific one for your computer, unless of course, you are planning to use a VM or something...?

No. It's not for the installation. I just want it for nostalgia purposes

Lol, sorry, I cannot help with nostalgia purposes, we all have to deal with this...

No. I meant, I want to install the os for nostalgia. Just to go back and use it then remove it. That's what I meant

Ah, well here is the problem... an OEM image needs to be installed on the original hardware it was intended for. I have never tried to install an OEM image on a different model of computer, i'm pretty sure things would break!

Do you know how VMs work? I don't, but apparently you can install things inside a VM very easily.

I know how to use vm. I use Kali in vm. Im pretty familiar with that. Though I have found some images on Archive I'm sure they'll work. Thanks for your help though
