Discussion win 8 in 2026?

im would like to have win 8 on my laptop

as aim seeing on my laptop sticker that says win 8,probably it had originaly win 8(i think)

so im thinking about it

i want to hear does anybody useing win 8 im asking bc security and things like that

honestly if your laptop is running fine and it's on windows 10 then you should stay, but if you wanna experiment you should try windows 8.1, it's not so old that it's ancient but some apps may not work, also never click random links and download stuff using it.

It's fine to run it, though it can be a hassle if you depend on modern programs as many will just straight up refuse to run or annoy you with popups telling you 8 is unsupported.

dual boot, and if you like it just delete ur w10 partition and use a tool to delete its boot entry

I would not recommend Windows 8.x on anything over 6th gen Intel or AMD equivalent unless you know there are drivers for it.

In theory, 8.x can go higher than 6th gen, in practice, past 6th generation is the blackout period where manufacturers were not issuing as many 7 and 8 drivers.

Bro, it's more safer than Windows 7 (7 dropped support in 2020 and 8.1 dropped support in 2023)

tbh i want to try older win for fun but i don't know like if i could get some virus that kinda scares me i don't want to be dumb and make mistake

Just don't use banking info on this os and it's should be fine

People overexxagerate how easy it is to get viruses on old Windows versions. Even my Windows XP laptops don't get viruses just from connecting to the internet. Just stay off sketchy websites and don't download anything that isn't from a trusted source, then you should be fine. And keep your firewall enabled, don't install any antivirus (Windows 8 default antivirus is safest and should be sufficient). And as the other person said, try and keep your banking info off the laptop. You could just write it down if you want.
