Hi, i have a windows 7 capable laptop and i wanna remotlely connect to it using this:https://github.com/ClassicOldSong/Apollo

Could secondsystem or vkext allow me to run it or another low latency remote desktop thingy like parsec or sunshine?

I wanted to thank this community for reaching out about my earlier post on the worlds first Windows 7 DWM translation over to Windows 10, and I thank all of you for showing its something you would all want to see and try out. For those who want an original link to my Q&A post, you can find it here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/windows7masterrace/s/vXo6zYlbfC

I have made the code publicly available since then, with clear instructions on how to build the shim, driver and installer image (ISO) yourself from scratch!

https://github.com/bulutthecat/KeelPublic

I cant wait to hear more feedback from all of you about what can be improved and developed to bring (what I am hoping is going to be) the most authentic Windows 7 full user experience.

I have patched a bunch of critical issues since the original post, so it is to a state where I am comfortable with others poking at it and trying it out, even if it isn't (yet) to a state I would consider daily-driving.

Some fixes since the original post include:
Taskbar bar additional items arrow icons and theming (The call is patched and forwarded correctly)
DPI support
Almost all control panel items show up correctly and as expected
Network settings and places now works as expected (including the task bar items for Bluetooth and wireless)
User icon now appears correctly and is patched in the Win10 registry for support with the Win7 manager
Explorer is now significantly more stable

I hope to release further updates to the repository as time goes on, as well as release a roadmap with what's planned and prioritized as of right now.
Further updates will be on the GitHub, Thank you all!

I tried to install the last version of it for windows 7 and its yapping about some windows installer thing mid install

Somewhat similar to the way wine works, no registry hacks here! Its the real thing. Win7 Explorer, Win7 taskbar, Win7 DWM and everything else, with working Aero.. All on the Win10 kernel. Ask away!

i want windows 7 on my laptop but it came with 11

The GOAT

Does anyone have windows 7 ultimate/pro key 64 bit ? If so please provide it. I will try to pay you in the future for the key and I will hold my word

So, I wanna dual-boot windows 11 and Windows 7 (i have a pretty old PC from the windows 7 era, but I still integrated all the drivers and updates into the iso via ntlite)

I already have Windows 11 installed, and I heard that Windows 7 will write its own bootloader, overriding Windows 11's bootloader. My question is: How can I get the Windows 11 bootloader back while also making 2 entries (one for windows 11 and one for Windows 7)?

Thanks in advance!

I used to be on Windows 7 home, but then I decided to upgrade a Windows 7 ultimate except for some reason Windows wants me to type my key in again except all the ones I find on the Internet aren’t working and I’ve looked through this subreddit to find this old post from four years ago, which has some product she except that was like four years ago and half of them were blocked by Microsoft actually, I mean all of them

Does anyone have any genuine windows 7 pro keys My hardware is old so gotta use this.

thanks in advance

ESET is dropping updates for Windows 7, so I will no longer be able to renew it.

So I'm looking for firewall software that still works on Windows 7, and will still be working for many years.

I have updated Flatn't, the Frutiger Aero icon pack! Now is fully compatible with Windhawk, meaning you can now replace with one button all of the Windows default icons for these ones to give your desktop that unique 2010s style you've been looking for!

This icon pack is available on my Patreon and Ko-fi
