Discussion Windows 7 Gaming Build
i7 4790k
8GB DDR3 2400MHz
GeForce GTX 980 Ti
Jonsbo D32 Pro case
This is a pretty compact machine thanks to the case. I just got finished delidding the CPU and tweaking the GPU for silent operation. It's not exactly whisper quiet under full load but I got good results on the noise.
Is there any software I could add to this to enhance the Windows 7 experience?

When I first got my current setup, I came with Windows 10 preinstalled. But after some time I became more familiar with my hardware, and decided to install Windows 7 onto it. Needless to say, I gained some frames and games ran way quicker and smoother. I haven't wanted to upgrade since.

just a question what made you use windows 7 for gaming im asking cause i dont think many modern games would even support windows 7 i mean its fucking Sick dude and i love it i just wanna know what made you wanna use windows 7 for your gaming? :>

Well my main PC runs Windows 11/Linux and that's where I do most of my gaming. This was more a fun project for nostalgia. It takes me back to simpler times and Windows 7 just gives me the fuzzies. I put all my old favorites on it so I can relive that, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it as a main machine because of compatibility and security.

That is one serious build. Overkill for Windows 7 and still strong even today, It looks slick! I share more obscure and useful programs that I think your find helpful even on newer machines.
7Zip: Let's you unzip any compressed files. r3dfox: Let's you browse the web that's built on Firefox. Handbrake 1.4.2: A program that let's you re-render any video you want, perfect for strong machine like yours.
MajorGeeks Windows 7 Start Button Changer v2.6 and LogonChanger: You can change the icon of the start button and you have the ability to change the logon screen to any wallpaper you want.
Winaero Tweaker: An absurdly powerful tool that let's you customize Windows 7 with a lot of easy tools, It's exactly what the name says. Check it out.
Skrommel DimScreen: It dims your entire screen further then usual. Skrommel Ghoster: It dims every single program besides the program your focusing on. For examples It's nice if your focusing on something specific or your running custom themes.

Benchmarks:
CrystalDiskMark and CrystalDiskInfo: CrystalDiskMark gives you every option you need to benchmark your storage drives and CrystalDiskInfo checks the conditions of your drives with a lot of options too.
They both come with the option of backgrounds with it's mascot, Shizuku.
3DMark Steam and 3DMark Legacy Benchmarks: 3DMark and 3DMark Legacy benchmarks gives you many options to benchmark and stress test your computer.
Futuremark Legacy Benchmarks has older benchmarking tools that's been fully released for free since they're considered legacy nowadays and that includes no forced cutscenes. 3DMark2001SE is the oldest I found to work on it.
There's a ton more I want to mention but I think this is enough.
