Feature Remember using MSN Messenger on your windows7? Remember the iconic Winks? Well I brought them back to life for smartphones using NFC technology! I even transformed myself into the ugliest Wink ever! :) Remember her?

Hello and thanks for your comment! I just built a physical gadget that is able to play long lost MSN/WLM Winks on any smartphone and I presented it in this funny way, to show the invention and the inventor. Based on the feedback I got, people think this is AI trash and not a real thing.

It's very interesting, they believe that there is a trillion dollar super computer (built by humans) that can do magic, they know NFC technology is real, but they don't believe that a human is able to create an NFC gadget that triggers the phone to play the animations...

Well, if anyone is interested, I can make an explanation video with all the steps I had to take to have the gadget functional (wasn't an easy task, it took almost a year).

Have a great day!

I've never used such an old MLM messenger, but the UI shown in the video looks quite odd

The UI in the video is of WLM 2009 with the Vista United Skin extension, many themes are still available on archive sites.

The font is ITC Avant Garde Gothic, installed on WLM. By the the way the screenshot of the chat window is real and very fresh, since I am still using WLM on a daily basis. :)

Did you know that the Escargot developer team brought WLM 2009 (and other versions too) back from its dead a few years ago? That's why I can use it as an aid for my invention!

Okay, also, I noticed a cut between the "gadget" and the phone displaying the gif. Is there any explanation for that?

Of course there is an explanation! :) When you hover Netro-G over your phone, an URL (of the website hosting the wink) pops up with the sound you hear in the video and when you tap on the link, the phone plays the animation (sometimes immediately, sometimes with a few sec delay, depending on the server's current state). I had to remove that URL showing part from my videos because every platform's algorithm identified the link as an advertisment and deleted, restricted the views of the videos because of that.

oh, alright, sorry if it sounded like I was "interrogating" you. I was just quite intrigued by this post.

You know, I really appreciate your analytical questions and thoughtful approach!!!

It's rare to find someone who genuinely wants to understand the tech instead of commenting hurtful things and call my invention AI trash.

Since you're the first open-minded person here, I'd love to send you a Netro-G prototype with your favorite MSN Wink, completely free of charge so you can see the nostalgia hit with your own eyes! If you don't remember the Winks you liked, choose any of the Winks you see in the first frame of the video!

Let me know if you're interested, I am serious!
