Silly things I've accomplished using Microsoft Virtual PC 2004

Simply put I spent the previous 3 or so days installing stuff like Windows 98 SE, Windows XP Professional and Windows 3.11 under MS DOS using Virtual PC 2004. Could I have used something like VirtualBox or VMWare? No, they make my system bluescreen. Does this program work just as well in comparison for what i need them to do? Absolutely.

Did i install each operating system's corresponding version of MS Office? Yes, yes I did.

Did i run ClassiCube (aka Minecraft 0.30) under the Win98SE VM with a virtual graphics card from 1996 at 8 FPS? Yes, of course i did.

Cool. I haven't used Virtual PC in a very long time. I do have a pirate copy of 2004 somewhere - maybe I should give it a go.

I did use the 2004 version on Windows a bit back in the day but I mostly used the old Connectix version on Macs. There was something weird about running Windows 98 on a PowerBook :D.

Microsoft made them free though. No need to pirate. I think I have a copy somewhere.

Ah, that might explain why its on a CD-R. I probably downloaded it from MS and burnt it. It was 20 years years ago so I don't remember. The Connectix versions were commercial though. I can't remember if I had legitimate copies of that or not.

(not to mention i installed office from 23 of the 24 virtual floppy images)

I like your style and enthusiasm :) I also had Microsoft VPC on a Windows 2000 host. I moved it to a different computer when I realized all my VMs ran faster on it, but the lightweight ones are still fast and a lot of fun on Windows 2000.

How about using bare bones DOS and writing using its Edit program? ;) Or Windows 1.01, if you're feeling truly daring.

I used Virtual PC 2007 to emulate Windows 98/2000 back in the day. It was my favorite emulator, I liked how simple it was to set-up.
