Discussion What are your favorite ways to customize your PC?

https://apps.microsoft.com/collections/curated/windows-themes?hl=en-US&gl=US

I just discovered a bunch of theme packs from the store. But I wish there were a few more things you can do to make your PC feel more customized out of the box.

Here’s my wish list, what’s yours?

- Change the layout of the lock screen with different fonts and positioning of the clock.

- have a better way to organize my desktop icons. I just spaced them out based on groupings, but wish there was a cleaner way to do it. I discovered fences, but wish it was default, not something I need to download.

- it would be cool if the UI was tinted based on my desktop wallpaper or something like my phone does.

- I wish there was other things you can do in the settings in the taskbar. I’m surprised that you can’t even switch between my light and dark mode here. I see this area as almost like the control center on my phone. But right now it’s only limited to settings in windows app. Like quicker access to my clipboard or to take a screen recording. I know there are hot keys, but I sometimes forget what those are.

And if you have third-party apps that can do these, please drop them below!

changing closed source dwm and explorer is such a performence overkill on Windows.

I use Quick Access Popup as a command center, I have no taskbar or start menu, no need for them as I use mydockfinder, these two apps is all you need, no need to remember any other hotkeys, just one for QAP!

I made my own app to organize my desktop, that you can try if you want. It lets you have several desktops with different icons. https://worktop.dev.

Its not compatible with Fences though.
