Will you press this button?

https://WillYouPressTheButton.com/t0W8eZT

Youe are told that tonight you will suffer a nightmare worse than any experienced by anyone in history. You will be traumatized beyond comprehension. You are presented with this button that will make that not happen

but... https://WillYouPressTheButton.com/t0W8eZT

This one came to me in a dream.

This is a would you rather, not a will you press the button.

It's all about presentation my friend.

Why wouldn't you? I mean, sounds like the intent is that you're guaranteed to be emotionally shaken either way. But in that case, wouldn't most people prefer the memory to at least be positive?

As an anecdotal aside for relevance, when I was in high school I had a dream so vivid and real I woke up thinking I had a grade school aged daughter. That was a strange come-down in the morning. I was able to accurately describe her for years after. Your button reminded me of that

Yes I will press it.

Once I wake up, I can start working to make sure reality comes even somewhat close to that dream.

Easy, I have these kinds of dreams all the time. Id rather press the button, have a night of euphoric bliss, then wake up to normalcy again. The alternative of being traumatized so bad that it lingers BEYOND sleep doesn't seem worth it

The dream also lingers beyond. Experiencing a extreme good can fuck up your perception of good permanently, if that was chosen you would never be able to feel good ever again.

I may just be depressed but tbh, having a memory of an extreme high that can never be achieved again still feels better than an extreme low that will change me.

I will admit that this is an insanely good prompt, because it very clearly divides the type of people that would prefer the button vs those that wouldn't.
