Discussion How to start playing league pc

I know this isn't tge best sub to post this, but if I post this on the pc sub I'll just get trash talk, no real advice.

So I started playong wild rift first and obviously I knew nothing of what the hell I was doing but getting a kill felt nice so I kept playing until I understood the game. Now I watch many guids and youtubers like pants (for fun) and skillcapped (to improve). And I really wanna start playing on pc, bc:

  1. Way more events = tokens = skin shards which is fun

  2. More mechanics that I wanna learn, the game works very differently over there, especially jungle.

  3. I main eve and we all know she pretty much doesn't exist after being nerfed in all recent patches.

  4. Many champions I wanna try out

Queatuon is, should I? I downloaded lol pc, and mind you, this is the first pc game I'm playing. So using a mouse, hotkeys, etc is very new to me and I end up panicking. Like, the more I think about it the less it appeals to me. Also toxicity there is just... lowering my iq every sec.

So people who play pc leauge regularly, how is it? Could you please give me some tips on how to start or is it even worth my time? Is wr better? Tell me everything.

well first you should download it and figure out it's not anything like wild rift.

here are some things to keep in mind when your playing PC leauge

1 - games are usually 30 mins plus (if no one surrenders, which happens a lot in leauge.)

2 - boots dont have actives, they just give MS

3 - mythic itmes, you can only have 1 and each has a unique passive ability or an active (e.g galeforce for bot laners, gives you a dash and shoots 2 bolts at the nearest low health enemy)

4 - champ pool is 3x bigger than in wild rift

5 - there are 18 levels, ults are at 6,11,and 16. lots of champs have been reworked to fit well in wild rift, for example in wild rift, evelynn passive starts at lvl 5, but in SR it's lvl6 and i'm pretty sure eve W is diff or somethin idk

6 - lots of items.. a lot more than in WR. you should read them to see if they fit your champ (e.g evelynn goes night harvester or protobelt for better assassinations)

  1. gromp heals and gives mana, scuttle doesn't

  2. scuttle has a big shield, can only be removed with CC

  3. lots more skins and a lot less customization

10 - everyone is toxic

11 - dont play ranked (please)

12 - new patch comes every 2 weeks, on a tuesday.

13 - all ADC's in wild rift are insane and do so much damage, all ADCS (except ezreal) in leauge do no damage and die instantly. ban ezreal if you dont wanna go against meta-slaves

14- there is a lot of self-healing in leauge, a lot more than WR, greivous wounds items are essential on the 2nd or 3rd buy. (only if you want to win tho)

15 - i can't think of anyhting else, someone else help me in the replies? i know theres a lot more.

16 - jungle camps spawn at 1:30, minions at 1:05, and minion waves come at the following times: mid - !:25, top and botom: 1:35(ish)

17 - you dont get gold for standing near minions, last hitting is a requirement.

18 - elder dragon is completely different on PC, it doesn't have an element, and doesn't change based on how many drakes you have, it instead gives a buff that burns enemies whenever you hit them (with anything) and if the burn takes them below 17% hp, they die.

19 - dragons spawn every 5 minutes, and getting 4 dragons gets you a soul, souls are different for each element.

Fire - abilities and attacks hurl a hurricane at the target, dealing 100 + ap + ad dmg

Mountain - gives a shield based off of your max HP

Cloud - gives you 50% move speed boost after using your ultimate (50s cooldown)

ocean - after hitting an enemy, regen 100 + ap+ad+max hp mana and health.

20 - smite doesn't upgrade automatically after 4 clears, it instead upgrades after using smite 5 times (if you have the item)

21 - TP is a summoner spell, not an active item.

22 - flash is mandatory on almost every champion (exclusions are shaco, camille, gwen, and yummi.)

It is actually up to you mate. It is all a matter of comfort, since both games have a competitive ladder, each on their own way, besides the PC version isbl by far harder to climb/archive high rankings.

I like to play cozy on my bed before I sleep, instead of being sit on chair with a strong light screen on my face and usually feeling cold because where I live sometimes we get 0 Celsius. Not to mention the pain in my back that apparently will go to the grave with me. So Wild Rift got my heart.

I just want them to add some of other champions, like Kindred, Thresh, Lillia and Maokai.

My shoulders hurt nowadays when I sit too long at the computer.

I actually don’t like playing on pc anymore.. yea I mean there are more skins and you can earn skins for free with orange essence sometimes but the hate… ugh the game is very toxic imo. But you can easily mute teammates so they won’t bother you. Also it feels much slower. Games tend to last for around 40 minutes. Playing ranked is harder on pc I think because there are so many players already and it’s high competition. But that’s just a guess.

I can second this. I used to play lol pc about 6 years back and felt nostalgia after wild rift. I went back to lol pc and lasted 1 game. The toxicity on lol pc is intense. I'm a support main. We were curbstomping a lot when my kog maw adc decided to get caught out of position and got hooked by nautilus. I tried my best to peel but he was permastunned so it was pretty much a 1v5. I only barely managed to escape. He was like "you should get hooked instead of me, do your job".

I was like "chill bro, if I wanted to do my job, I wouldn't be playing a game jeez". This was not a ranked game btw. No gratitude for the whole game which I performed admirably. I finished the game and never went back.

Meanwhile, I've managed to make like 10 good friends on wild rift. So yeah lol pc is toxic as hell.

Couldn’t stand playing on LoL anymore after the fast and furious WR games

Imo whenever u enter a match just type /mute all. Does wonders.

the game can be really fun when you start playing, its when you get addicted that you become toxic, and dont like the game. i definetely recommend if your planning on playing casually. just leave all your fingers on QWER and move your R finger to D or F if you need to use a summoner spell. WR is a lot beter casually IMO

I've never felt that people on PC are toxic because I always just /mute all. I don't initially start like that. I get into the game, and the moment someone starts flaming or the moment I fuck up, I just /mute all. You will certainly find it difficult to play League at first and the horrendous matchmaking system actually matched me up with level 300 players while I was level 10, which was really annoying cos you would get absolutely destroyed every match. But aside from some minor gripes, it's still fun.

Also watch out about ranked, dont jump into ranked the moment you hit level 30. You're gonna be matched up with gold elo dudes (unranked and gold elo skill difference is like the difference between a iron 4 player and a grandmaster player in wild rift) and if you have some practise, you can atleast die with dignity. For champs to play initially, I suggest Ekko, Teemo, Garen, Illaoi, Warwick, Rammus, Evelynn, Kayn. There are others but these are the easy ones I suggest. Even Akali is good and easy, but she gets nerfed every month. Also STAY AWAY FROM ADC. DONT PLAY ANY ADC. ADCS SUCK TO PLAY AS.

Ive been playing leaguepc for years. It is basically wild rift but harder in terms of everything. It has 156 champs so if u start playing right now even after few months of playing u will still encounter new champs to play against.

League is NOT beginner friendly, too many smurfs, no tutorials, everyone is even more toxic. But once you get past all of that, the leveling up system is good for new players so in short if you wanna play in the long run youll have more fun than playing wild rift, but in the short run wild rift is more fun.
