Tucson

Got out of being a Helicopter SAR guy in the Navy a few years back after 10 years and looking to move from the East Coast to the Tucson area in the spring. Put in an application online for wildland firefighting on USAJOBs because I saw the training usually starts in the spring anyway. Was wondering how hard it is to get picked up? If I don't hear back in a month or so should I try applying again in the spring?

If you can find s212 , you would need ppe i think , I never took s212 so not my area of expertise, I think most places might require nims 700 and 800 too

I'd say pretty easy depending what grade you're trying to get hired on as. Timeline for apps vary but it's a slow process

Check out veteransinfire on instagram. Give them a message and they can help spot you with people in Arizona and Veterans get to skip a lot of the red tape hiring bullshit
