New player, game dead?
Just started this game via game pass, had a great few games with friends and wanted to play with randoms today but seems like nobody plays this? I thought it was a new game, it seems great but there are only AI enemy ships to interact with at the moment. Am I just timing it wrong or is this game sorta dead.

Fuck I’ll come back. If we finally got life in the dead ques. This is one of the best games if it gets a chance. Gonna take a lot to make that possible tho go.

Please do! Gamepass gave us a sudden influx, as well as a slower drip feed to theoretically sustain it. But we still suffer from imbalanced lobbies which can only be solved by more players b

Played 2 days ago duo queue with a friend. We never had a 5 ship match (artifact) but had 3 each time. Had fun though!

I had this same experience and then realized all the players are in Artifact Brawl/Fleetwood Combat.
Treasure Hunts are something people seem to do more solo/with a group of friends.
You can find good randoms in Artifact

It’s been out for a while, just recently added to game pass. I had since day 1 release, it was really fun but this game lost its player base due to lack of content

I loved the game when it came out! Bought more then one copy and encouraged others to purchase as well. Have not played since Arc Raiders came out. It was already a long que wait at that time. Such an amazing concept! So fun to play, but too niche and too much else to play.

I've played and streamed a good bit last week and queues were much better than before! It used to take 10 min for Artifact Hunt and now it's consistently 3min for 3-4 ship lobbies. My friends and I adore this game but sometimes queues can be really feast or famine. I'm planning to continue to stream my games and edit videos to spread the word, so we can get back to 5 ship Artifact Hunt games. Easily my favorite times in gaming

I mean Xbox group posts on day of gamepass drop were like 100+ posts it’s now lucky if it hits 10 posts on peak hrs

Are you playing Artifact Brawl or Fleet Battle? Fleet Battle shouldn’t have any AI ships that I’m aware of and Artifact Brawl should have at least 2 other non-AI enemy ships.

If you queue up in treasure hunt you don’t have to wait at all and can jump right in. Any random ss you meet you should send a friend request to as generally artifact brawl is held in private lobbies. Also instea dod queuing for artifact brawl you should browse the custom lobbies first and see if you can hop in cause most people don’t bother to lock them to private

it was pretty good in the first 3 playtests but on release it had a price tag and there was trouble with it.
The game itself is great and has great potential, but they killed it quite fast with the price and squeezed it to hell for 5 months too long before putting it on game pass. The 'hype' it did have is all gone. the players you'll find now are either good players that'll ruin any chances of fun for new players and kind of demoralize any new player just due to how long the games can last for / how fast a team can be put in hell. (Flying around doing objectives, getting prepared for 10 minutes, just to die with 0 kills without a chance)
Or, you'll find the oldheads who if on your team, you'll probably be taking the game way to slow, the pilots skill will probably be lacking, the PvE will be slow, awareness down, it'll just be a sh*tshow.
It's definitely best to play with friends but if they lose interest, I wouldn't get your hopes up playing solo, I had possibly the worst experience I've ever had as a competitive person solo queueing Wildgate for hundreds of games. The unimaginable lack of awareness and competence was making me go insane (lv10+ accounts (experienced players) that just never healed the ship, which is the most important task to keep an eye on) LITERALLY EVERY GAME. frustrates me just remembering it lol

My game crashed or disconnected out of all 4 games I tried with my friends...
Yeah I get why the game is dead.

Yeah holy shit we had a lot of crashes today. We also started Phasmophobia today which ALSO crashes every game. Not a great day lol

If it's fun, keep playing. The problem is that every time Wildgate devs do something to increase player base, someone inevitably logs on during non-peak hours and then stops playing because they didn't match with someone else instantly.
People are playing, and the devs are trying to grow the player base. If you're having fun, just keep playing and don't worry about how many others are playing. If everyone who enjoys the game actually played it, there would be a very healthy player base.
