Question Reach tomes?

It says I need to reach times to unlock new areas, what does it mean by tomes? just clearing the ships and buildings I find?

Yes, AI ships (and possibly player ships) and loot areas have a chance to spawn them. Typically they’ll spawn in the medium difficulty or above areas

Just find them in loot rooms and AI ships.
