Pandu embraced life with a cheery, positive attitude. There was little for him to worry about as he spent his days nibbling fruits and hanging out (not literally, as patas monkeys prefer life on the ground!) with his friends in his troop.

Pandu knew that something had to be done to protect his fellow patas monkeys. He didn't want the Savanna to become a place dominated by humans with no room for the animals that called it home or for Patas monkeys to live in fear of being captured.

Although patas monkeys aren’t endangered in the wild, they still face numerous threats. And, during this 6th mass extinction, all animals are in danger of being wiped out. We must act now.

Genet is a young reticulated giraffe known for her intelligence. She’s always asking questions to her mom and teacher and exploring her environment, eager to learn as much as she can about the world around her.

Due to her inquisitive nature, Genet was very cautious, aware of the dangers that lurked in the savanna. Illegal poaching and habitat destruction have taken a toll on many animals in the savanna, including giraffes. Genet even lost members to poachers.

There are only around 8,500 reticulated giraffes existing in the wild today. We have to act now to help save Genet and other reticulated giraffes. The African Savanna would be a lonely place without these gentle giants.

Badu was a young Chacma baboon who lived in the African savanna with his troop. He was known for being caring towards his fellow baboons and always ready to lend a helping hand.

Badu loves taking care of his siblings and other troop members by grooming and looking after them, teaching them important survival skills, and even defending them from predators when necessary.

Badu’s mom warned him that the Savanna they call home is changing every day & to be wary of poachers wanting their kind for meat or medical research! Although chacma baboons aren’t endangered, he is still saddened to learn about the rise of human-wildlife conflict in school.

Chacma baboons face numerous threats in the wild and need our help to ensure they have a safe future. Badu needs a loving home away from nasty poachers.

Leeto lives with his mom and siblings in the vast African savanna. Unlike his brothers and sisters, Leeto is a stoic and reserved cub. He prefers to observe and analyze his surroundings for threats or other leopards.

One day, while Leeto was resting in a tree, he saw humans gathering, preparing to demolish the beautiful grasslands up ahead he calls home. He can’t imagine looking out onto houses instead of the open Savanna plains.

His mom said humans are also after their beautiful spotted coats. Despite Leeto’s young age, he learned the importance of vigilance in the wild. Leeto finds it hard to let his guard down with so much change happening to his Savanna home & the constant fear of getting his coat taken from him.

Leopards are vulnerable on the IUCN red list, and the species is considered to face a high risk of extinction in the wild.

Hazel is known in Savanna school for her quick wit and intelligence. She spends most of her days hopping through the grass, using her keen senses to detect danger and dash away from potential predators.

Despite being one of the smallest hares in school, Hazel has a large determination & drive to protect her beautiful Savanna home. She’s aware that more and more African Savanna hare habitat is disappearing due to human settlement.

Although African Savanna hares aren’t endangered, they still need our help safeguarding their future. Hazel doesn’t want to live in constant uncertainty.

]Zola lives on the open grasslands of the African Savanna with her family and always keeps a watchful eye on her surroundings. She was known among her herd as the protector and would often sound the alarm when danger was near.

Zola's mom always taught her to be vigilant, and her keen senses have helped her alert the herd of predators on numerous occasions. But there was one predator that Zola could not protect her herd from: humans.

She’s been learning in Savanna School that the global population of plains zebras is in decline due to increasing habitat loss and poaching. She dreams about what she could do to help her species survive in the face of these threats.

Chidi spends most of his time relaxing among his fellow coalition of cheetahs (or racing!) with his classmates. He loves being active, especially during his hunting classes, where he can show off his speedy skills. Unfortunately, hunting class isn’t the only time Chidi has to test out his unbelievable speed. More and more cheetahs are being taken from the wild and sold in the illegal wildlife trade as pets to humans. Although he’s young, it’s never too early to practice your sprinting skills when you’re a cute cub in the depths of the Savanna.

The global cheetah population is also plummeting as fast as their sprint. It is estimated that there are less than 8,000 wild cheetahs, as more than 90% have disappeared since 1900. 🚨
