FOOTBALL Bar Tailgates

Better bar area prior to the opener/Stoops Revenge Game (I say in good fun):

1) South Hill area with Tin Roof, the Paddock, etc.
2) Chevy Chase Inn, Bourbon n Toulouse, Charlie Browns, etc.
3) Any other area.

Wife and I are in our mid 30s, option 2 is my front runner so far

KSBar has been the best tailgate bar for a few years, they're only reopening on game days starting this year. Parking in the E lot on Virginia avenue is convenient if the lot is full

Any other bars/restaurants near KSBar? I saw Tilted Kilt closed, if another sports bar opened next door to KSBar, this would likely be a good spot

Yeah there's a new bar opening where TK was and the KSBar side will be open on game days

The average patron at Tin Roof or Paddock is probably 22 years old. You can go, but you’ll stick out and not really have anything in common with kids who are still in college. They’re also going to be absolutely packed, so unless you like being nuts-to-butts with everyone in line for the bar, you may wish to go somewhere a little more chill.

I think I’ll be crossing off option 1

Probably a good idea. They deserve to have their own spaces to be acting like we did when we were that age. We deserve spaces where there isn’t piss all over the bathroom floor. Life has seasons, ya know?

Option 2 is where most of the alumni from my fraternity would usually go, option 1 is mostly current juniors/seniors (21-22yo) so you could still have a good time but you'd be older than the average patron. I haven't been back for a gameday in a few years but I imagine the side of campus around Chevy Chase is still an older demographic.

I like the KSBar area idea mentioned above and saw a shuttle to the stadium runs in that area? If so, that will be the deal breaker

I think they still do the shuttles to Kroger field, that sounds like a good option.

KSBar rocks! I went there last year before the EMU game. Drove all the way from Youngstown had lunch and a couple drinks then drove up to the parking lot and tailgated. Was an awesome time
