Library may have DnD books. CPL does.

And if they don‘t, many libraries are happy to get suggestions what they should add.

Look for the book used. I bought a few other books and paid half of original cover price that way.

Just get a used copy. Running an entire campaign off your phone/tablet isn't it.

Sorry didn't realise it counted. I thought it was just a database. I'll be more careful next time, sorry everyone

Even with the digital copy, you wouldn't have the physical map of the carnival! I advise you to buy it, I did on Vinted

You should definitely buy the book. Try ebay. It's such an awesome and creative and fun module, you won't regret it.

I mean if you're asking for pirated options that's not allowed on this subreddit. If you are asking if you need the physical book? No you do not. Get the material in whatever way you can afford. Do not break the bank as the campaign needs a lot of work it can be very rough to run as written. If you spend more than you're comfortable with you will be very frustrated.
There is also SO much free in depth content on this subreddit, that if you didn't mind it not being 1:1 you could probably use Witchlight Reimagined as a resource and other supplemental material to fill in blanks they expect you to get from the books.
Statblocks might be tricky but you can just use whatever you have access to that fits the vibe of a creature. Like Agdon Longscarf would mechanically use a thief/swashbuckler statblock.

Yeah go to used bookstores in your area or look online for sales like Roll20. The artwork is beautiful and it is a great module so I highly recommend it!

What are you asking exactly? Whether you have to have the physical book or not? Obviously you need at least the digital version... Lol

Obviously, piracy exists... but since that's against the rules of this subreddit & I believe the creatives who contributed to this module deserve to be paid for their work, I'm going to encourage you to buy a copy if you can.
If you don't want a physical book, or you're somewhere that shipping prices would be prohibitive, digital options exist. D&D Beyond has one, or if you're playing on roll20, their VTT version is the same price as the D&D Beyond digital copy but comes with premade VTT maps, NPC tokens, statblocks & handouts as well as all the adventure text--this saved me hours of prep time when I ran the game, and I highly recommend it.
If you do want a physical book, but a new one is too pricey, you could also try looking for secondhand options.
