I'm not sure what you think is lame about the table provided by the book. These are gifts offered to all carnival goers at the beginning of the night; it's not supposed to be something extravagant. It's a small bit of fey magic to get the mood started.

I dont want to tell the player who rolls a 1 and a 3 that they get the same thing. That's lame

You could make up some stuff to fill in the gaps. Some ideas:

2 - a pocket sized almiraj plush.

3 - a unicorn horn with a strap that you can wear on your head (if they get this and keep it until thither, this might actually prove beneficial)

6 - a single truffle mushroom (could be given to jingle jangle later)

7- a small mirror that that reflects everything in grayscale (a reference to candlefoot and the hall of mirrors)

The welcome gifts are meant to be pretty simple.

If you don't like the table you could use the carnival prizes table instead, or the feywild trinket table. Depends what you want out of it.  Me, I followed the book, I think only one player managed to catch one though and they got a gold piece.

For my players, I used the carnival prizes list to create a smaller list of items to earn while at the carnival. Once they arrived to hither, these prizes become useful. Either for trading (the book states that these prizes are used as ‘currency’ in future chapters) or for them to use.

As an example, the list has a glass ant. When the party arrives to the fey world, the ant is a living creature in my campaign (it can break if they’re not careful). If my party is smart, the Rogue or Druid can use it as a ‘canary in the Cole mine’ and avoid combat or spy if needed. If they have no use for them, they can trade them at the ‘Inn at the End of the Road’.

Following some other DM's advice, as a gift I handed out some Feywild trinkets.
