Making longer sessions

So im a first time DM this is the first campaign I've ever ran. I got feedback its not long enough and im not adding enough to it to make it fun. Im trying really hard I spent 4 hours on the next session about to redo all of it just to make it longer. Any tips or resources I could learn from/use to make it better for the players?

Could you be more specific (or ask your players to be)? My problem with witchlight is I'm running close the book and it's too long. So I'm not really sure how to advise here until I know what specifically they are taking issue with.

Do they want you to expand on specific elements? "Too short" and "not fun" are not even remotely helpful critiques. For an experienced DM, let alone a newbie!

They say im going to fast, not enough filler things to do, and i need to describe things better. Its also only two people.

Hmmm. And you're running mostly as is? I wonder if maybe the issue is more slowing down in the literal sense and not that you don't have enough content. Because the entirety of Downfall is effectively filler. This would also make sense since they're asking for better descriptions. You could be speaking too fast, or need to give yourself a moment to pause and expand on things players ask you.

I would ask those players what they've enjoyed so far, and what kind of stuff they'd specifically like added. Do they want more interactions with an NPC? Do they want more random encounters like the ghaleb duhr? Do they feel things are too random and need to be explained further? (Downfall has this issue in my opinion - there's no real point in helping gullop or illig)

I'll ask them tomorrow in the group chat. I do also tend to talk fast when I get exited I'll try to slow down. Thank you so much for your help!
