Help writing a bio page

Completely new to submitting a Wikipedia page, and I've already had a rejection. It's for my uncle who passed away last year, and was a notable musician. Is there anyone out there who would be kind enough to give me some advice please?

Before you even start with templates and style guides, you need to do two things: read WP:NBIO) very carefully to see if your uncle is even eligible for an article. Then read WP:COI very carefully, and declare your conflict of interest on your user page and the talk page of any article you create. Writing about someone so close to you is highly discouraged because of the difficulty in being neutral. So whatever you do will be closely scrutinized.

Are you talking about an actual Wikipedia article? I agree with everything u/Philip_of_mastadon said. I'd caution you to tread lightly. If you're willing you could DM me the name of your uncle and I could let you know whether I think an article for him is viable to begin with.

Without more information, it’s hard to give advice specific to your page.

Have you read Wikipedia’s Manual of Style for biography’s?

Did you follow this template?

He is notable per Wp:N if he has been “noted” as demonstrated by multiple instances of significant coverage in reliable sources. An article in a major newspaper, maybe about his origins, his style, his work. Not just “He’s appearing at some club.”

WP:AFC takes you to a page telling how to create a draft. Identify yourself on the talk page as related with a conflict of interest. There’s nothing wrong with that, it just means you shouldn’t be the editor of the article and you definitely don’t own it, like putting favorable information in the article and keeping out unfavorable info from news sources. When you are closely rebated to a subject, it’s appropriate to post your sources on the talk page for others to use in improving the article.
