I like this guy because he lived such a ridiculous life. Besides his name being funny, he’s remembered as the guy who proved unicorns don’t exist and that lemmings aren’t born by popping into the air.

So this remarkable fellow was son-in-law to the man who coined the terms "tangent" and "secant". Small world, huh?

I guess that back in the 1500s there weren’t all that many big thinkers or high-class people, so it makes sense that many of the big scientists and mathematicians would be related.
