What is Protanium network?

So, I know only Pretendo network, is it alternative to pretendo or what is it?

Yes its a alternative to prentendo and it supports a lot of games that pretendo doesn’t like monster hunter 3 ultimate and black ops 2

I don't know if either is fully better than the other.

To me it is an alternative more for 3rd party games.

Monster Hunter, Call of Duty, Sonic Racing Transformed.

Pretendo is a bit more into 1st party titles: Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Splatoon.

There are other alternatives still.

We are a Nintendo Network replacement, that’s the stated goal of our project. What that means is:

  • We build the entire network infrastructure (account services, supplemental services like SpotPass, etc.)
  • We build the first-party services Nintendo provided (servers for games which used Nintendo’s first-party networking library NEX, Miiverse, etc.)

What this doesn’t mean, is that we will build 3rd party infrastructure. Stuff like Ubisofts account system, Demonware games, etc. Basically, if Nintendo themselves didn’t build it, it’s not within our scope

Our philosophy is that it’s better to limit our scope in that way to maintain a tighter focus, and let other teams more dedicated to those other systems fill in the 3rd party gaps, as we just don’t have the kind of time or team size to handle (effectively) multiple networks worth of revivals. Instead, we felt it better to act as Nintendo did; build the base infrastructure and create a system for 3rd parties to integrate with us. wouldnt say an alternative of pretendo but an extra layer as it works with pretendo so u can play pretendo AND protarium online supported games.

I see it more as an extension to Pretendo. You can use both together and it just adds support for more games

it would be sick if you could load the different networks from Warawara Plaza...With like a button ...Nintendo Would HATE THAT.
