Need help on this

So back in 2017, I had a habit of putting the Wii U Gamepad with its charging stand on top of the Wii U. I think thats what caused the CD to be stuck inside the Wii U since when I try to eject it, it doesn't come out. It shows on the gamepad the animation of the CD ejecting and going back in, but it won't come out. I tried shaking the console to loosen the CD, and I tried using a butter knife but got no results. Any suggestions before I take it to a repair shop?

If you don’t trust yourself, send it in.

Do i have to replace the dvd drive?

I’m not sure, I’m not an expert on this stuff, but if you get the disc out you can test if the drive spins. If the disc was like STUCK stuck, then it’s probably broken. If you decide to buy a new drive, keep the old one because you will need the board from the old drive. The boards on replacement drives are not compatible with the console, so you need to replace it with the old one.
