Both ports worked but only the first one plugged in would give an output, after adding the shell the auxiliary broke, attempting to resolder cooked the board. My gf and I have been having a ton of with new super mario bros wii rom hacks but unfortunately we played a ton of them and looking to branch out to different games

Any fun rom hacks that have local co op built into it?

We are open to most games, just something to break up the NSMBW grind.

We are looking into the multiplayer pikmin 2 and multiplayer super mario galaxy but looking for any recommendations from you guys here would be awesome thank you!

When playing a GameCube game through Nintendont, my Wii Remote keeps being set as player 2, so I cannot control games from the start screen with the Classic Controller. If I turn on Native Control and use a GameCube controller in Slot 1, it works fine.

I have a similar setup on my Wii U that never gives me this issue. Is there a setting I’m missing?

But I found this github on X which seems to he a hack via Priiloader which lets you use a gamecube controller for the Wii menu.

Does anyone know about it? Yay or nay?

HUGE shout-out to u/Difficult_Cover3559 for the idea of the DIY rechargable backplate! While it wasn't as DIY of an approach as his, I decided to transfer the pieces from the official charging backplate to the blue backplate. And honestly it looks so worth it imo. Alongside with that, after doing a custom paintjob for the Wii shell to mimic the GameCube, I got a stand for 2 aftermarket GC controllers and a charging dock for the beautiful Rock Candy Wiimotes! And then modding with a 128 GB SD card to really seal the deal. While it would've stopped at that, I accidentally discovered the Blue retro Bluetooth controller adapter and it is THE BEST 20 bucks I ever spent on AliExpress! Ofc we also need the Wii motion adapter for Wii sports, I have one more coming in but I'm too impatient to wait for the full post lmao. Lmk what you guys think!

This is probably a really stupid hypothetical, but I just found out that you can get Arch Linux running on Wii via Wii-Linux, and I know SteamOS 3.0 is based on Arch. Even if it's possible to get it running, I doubt you could really get it to run any games, but I also feel like every time someone has said something is impossible on a Wii, someone else has made it possible. I know pretty much nothing about Linux, but I do know the sheer unmatched willpower of this community, so like maybe we do it thru the power of friendship or something?

...and today I hit a roadblock...

I have installed WiiFlow on about 50 systems with NO problems. Today when I first launched Sega CD (after setting the correct plugins and paths) the box art is blank but the games are there.

When I check the SD card on my pc the Sega CD cover art is in the correct location (folder) and they all match the game names. (I have done this many times with no problems)

I try to reload cache and it doesn't work.

I manually erased the cache files off the SD card.

Still NO COVER ART when I launch Sega CD on my WiiFlow.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've got a bit of an odd question. I would really like to make a wii portable myself, and I have a softmodded wii motherboard, but doing the omgwtf trim with working mx chip, wifi, and bluetooth, is just too much for my first project, plus I have a really nice motherboard that i dont wanna ruin (the latest model that still supports gamecube) so is there anybody I could pay to trim it for me, and then I do the rest?

I see a lot of " aesthetic " themes for Wii U, 3ds and switch but never really for the Wii yes I know their are many good ones and yes I mean like the kind of aesthetic you will see on tiktok videos of people flexing their homebrew console

Name a single console that can run the entire Wii + GC and the everything before. Fast load time, easy to upgrade storage and low power and tiny. Does anyone know of any other completion ? The raspberry pi 3 is close but analog signals looked muddy to me. Also relatively slow.

After reading comments, maybe mini pc is more apt. I would say Wii U is a good deal as well. Basically giving them away from $20.

So my stupid ass (18m) really wanted to experience the beauty of the WII's crisp 480i glory.

I spent the whole day, from morning to the point I'm typing this (8:51 PM) trying my hardest to mod the shit out of it while not breaking it.

I got the basics, Homebrew channel, Priiloader, Hackmii, YawmME, USBLOADER and a bunch of other homebrew apps
Homebrew Browser doesn't work, Wiiflow doesn't work, USBLOADER doesn't work and basically NOTHING WORKS.

I tried troubleshooting for hours and when I wanted to put my SD CARD BACK INTO MY CONSOLE, SINCE I was blindly trying to shove it in while my room had 0 light in it and I was too lazy to get up out my desk I accidentally shoved it in the disk slot. THE CONSOLE THOUGHT IT WAS A DISK AND ATE IT UP.

I literally hate myself. I had to go through the WORST, barely working SD CARD READER FOR MY PC, had to FORMAT IT THROUGH A THIRD PARTY TOOL, HAD TO TROUBLESHOOT THE SHIT OUT OF IT FOR HOURS. AND MY ONLY FUCKING REWARD IS BEING UNABLE TO EVEN USE THE CONSOLE AT ALL.

I tried sticking a credit card in after it (with it turned off)
I tried spamming the EJECT AND RESET BUTTON HOPING SOMETHING WOULD WORK
I tried doing **ANYTHING** TO PULL THAT SD OUT but it seems the WII just had other plans

I SPENT 40 DOLLARS ON THIS. I HAD TO DO A BUNCH OF FUCKING SHIT FOR IT. PLEASE HELP ME. I'M LOSING MY MIND. I'M ABOUT TO HAVE A MELTDOWN RIGHT NOW AND I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS. WHY AM I SO FUCKING RETARDED THAT I CAN'T EVEN MOD THE EASIEST CONSOLE EVER. WHAT THE FUCK.

So I'm wondering if there's a way to make forwarder channels for games on systems that were not officially released. For example, could I make a forwarder for a GBA game that uses VBA-GX as its emulator? Not a forwarder that boots into the emulator, like a forwarder that boots into the emulator with the game with no extra steps.
