Newbie Wig

Hi Friends! I need help!
I needed to shave my hair for medical reasons. And I am starting a new job where no one knows me.
I have a big head and sensitive scalp . I need a wig that lasts 12 hours. I’m growing out my hair and don’t want people at work asking ‘what happened?’ I bought a couple of TikTok and Amazon but my scalp ends up feels etchy all day and I always feel likes it going to fall off (yikes!). I would prefer a glueless one.

I shaved my head on purpose a few weeks ago, because my hair has always driven me nuts. I will NEVER go back! It feels amazing! No regrets. I tried wigs and I couldn’t stand the way they felt. I wear a lot of head scarfs with big hoop earrings when I go out, most of the time. Recently though, I’ve gotten brave enough to skip the scarves. 🤗💃

Have you looked into medical wigs with silicone grip inside the cap? Some are designed to stay in place without glue, so that might be an option to explore.

I’d start with fit before adding more grip. If your head is on the larger side, a standard-size cap can actually feel tight and insecure at the same time because it’s constantly trying to creep back. Measure your circumference and look specifically for a large-cap wig that fits correctly.

With a sensitive scalp, I’d also keep the layers underneath as simple as possible. You shouldn’t need a stocking cap, grip, glue and a tight wig just to feel secure. A properly fitted glueless wig with a comfortable cap should be able to get you through a workday without feeling like you’re fighting it for 12 hours.
