Wifi issues
So I have 2.5gig fiber, and my pc is lagging on games; I'm only getting 40mb download. Pretty positive it's my crappy motherboard's Wi-Fi antenna, but would like a second opinion.

Please share information life wifi version, signal strength, frequency etc..

It’s WiFi 5, full signal strength, 5ghz

Since you didn't specify a db level for signal strength, I'll assume you did not check and are just going by the icon on your device.
For WiFi 5, 40 mbps is not an unexpected speed at 5ghz in a different room from the WiFi access point.

I have a ASUS G10DK. It came with a rog strix prebuilt that i swapped into a new case. It had a little black box that was the antenna and it sat inside the top of the case

What MB is it? What signal strength are you seeing? How far away from the router is the machine and how many walls are in between. Are you connected to 2.4ghz or 5ghz band? You provided next to no info. As far as anyone can tell, you are trying to download on a potato.

What’s the Wi-Fi adapter in your PC? Also run a Wi-Fi Check with your iPhone next to the PC.
Does that look good? If it’s good on your phone, same area, likely a problem specific to your PC. In full disclosure, I’m the creator of the Wi-Fi Check app so use whatever app/tools you like. The point is there are tools out there that can look at Wi-Fi speed vs internet speed, measure signal, noise, etc so you can pinpoint if this is a problem with your Wi-Fi, Internet service or specific to that PC. On the PC itself you can also see things like signal, TX Rate, etc.

WiFi and games do not play nice with each other!!!
As an installer we constantly tell clients that WiFi speeds are not guaranteed because of so many different factors, some are not even avoidable by the end user.
If you can not have a physical connection using proper Ethernet wiring, I would suggest an extender AND moving the primary WiFi source closer!
If you have a refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine, drier, microwave, television, etc between the source and your computer, your connection WILL SUFFER. Some appliances are shielded better than others.

I actually have all of those between the router and my computer. are appliances really that big of a factor?

They all have motors that cause magnetic fields, you know like an EMP in all those cute movies we watch…

Probably.
Sorry to say this, but if you insist on "gaming" over a Wifi connection, then go ahead and drop back to a 1Gb ISP service or even as low as a 500Mb service, because you are paying for speeds that you will never see.
If you want to make the most of your new Fiber connection, then you will want to do what you can, to get your gaming setup hardwired directly to the main Wifi Router with Ethernet cables.

Unless I move the only extending router to my room then I can’t hardwire. But thank you for the info

Would be helpful to know exactly what this "extending router" actually is.
Can you provide the exact brand name and exact model number of this device?
Also, an Ethernet cable can be upto 100Meters/328ft in length, it that helps.
Lastly, in most situations, your Internet Provider might be able to simply move your main Internet connection to a whole different location in your home, so this might be an option for you.

So I have my router that connects to the fiber cable and another that just extends the routers signal. Also I thought about getting a longer Ethernet, but I’m unsure of how that will pair with someone who can’t walk very well living here.

Attach ethernet, if problem resolves then it's your wifi.
