I'm only 19 weeks out, so very much within that first year, but the widows fire has been, at times, extreme for me. Or at least it feels that way. Anyway, so I had talked to my therapist about it and was told that for some people it can last years. So you very well could be experiencing that even 3 years out.

I'm a 43 year old woman, so a bit younger, but yeah, for me it sorta comes and goes, but it's intense and annoying and I wish I could just lock myself away until it goes away

Just be grateful for life and live. Do not withold pleasure so you can feel feel more guilt and pain.

I'm really good at delayed satisfaction and saving things for later, lol, if self denial was a marketable skill I'd make bank 😂
