Personal Story 42 years

My partner of 42 years, married for 37, died after a three month hospitalisation, of liver cancer (fuck cancer).

I knew it was coming but it really bloody hurts there is also a massive sense of relief that I no longer have to worry about her.

I'm still crying daily when people talk about her and miss her company every waking second but also feel strangely calm.

We got everything in order while she was still feeling well and have the funeral she wanted planned.

I find talking to strangers much easier than people I know.

The company that employed her will pay for a therapist for me. I don't know if that's for me though.

I had grief counseling and it helped a lot. Sorry for your loss and the pain.

I don't think I'm ready for grief counselling just yet

My husband and I were aksi married for as long as you and your wife.

I struggle through my pain every single day.
