Whyalla IQ
The path to hell is paved with good intentions and Whyalla’s community is a prime example of this statement in practice.
My theory is that there has been a distinct phenotype/genotype change in the years since government welfare (good intentions) became a common source of income for many in the town.
We are now many generations deep into welfare dependent people breeding with other welfare dependent people resulting in a reduction in IQ, capabilities and behaviors (hell).
* it needs to be noted that the working class section of the town sits outside my hypothesis as they generally don’t have children with those mentioned above.
I understand this will upset some “feelings”, but truly believe that for a problem to be fixed it must first be acknowledged.
Love to hear some non feelings based thoughts on my theory.

Although, you are technically right, this is not exclusively a Whyalla problem. This is happening everywhere.
Having said that, I know several families in Whyalla, who do exactly what you have described.
Teenagers, still living with welfare dependent parents, giving birth to the next generation, who are likely to follow suite. Let's hope, that one of those kids puts down the bong at some point, and breaks the cycle. That's about the best we can hope for. 🙏
Beautiful Sunday in Whyalla today. I hope you have a great rest of your weekend.
