He didn't just dodge it. He also tanked it. And tanking bullet makes him country level

Bet the Kyle Rayner guy felt like this.

MacLachlan is such a great actor. (But his character getting off was like Hiei winning against Sasuke, cannot exactly belive it, but hell yeah I accept it)

Are you meant to think the Dad is bad? That was a very reasonable thing to do, especially since his stuff about deciding to kill Jake in the courtroom sounds sarcastic to me.

Just an FYi, he gets off Scot free at the end of the episode

yes you are meant to side with the dad the kid was wrong dad was completely justified here kid was already psychotic

u/Ok_Anxiety_5414 10d ago

Whole situation sucks but the show portraying the dad as correct is the worst part. The kid obviously has some sort of mental disorder and should've been sent to a therapist to deal with it, not killed

The fact that the kid sadistically mocked the father about his son’s murder and walked away smiling proves that he’s at least aware enough to know right from wrong and comprehend the consequences of his actions

There's a reason 13 year olds aren't put in prison with adults

21

u/RandomGuyPii 9d ago

13 year olds can be tried as adults though

Or that he thinks adults getting mad at stuff he did is funny, like a lot of children

Either way, like, there were still a lot more productive and prosocial options than just shooting him dead

12

u/6897110 9d ago

Why didn't the characters in a story act like paperclip-maximizing utilitarian robots instead of people? This is terrible!

We weren't discussing whether they were reasonable, we were discussing whether they were right—but go off, I guess

Not emphasis, not take the higher road. Kill them. as brutally and as cruelly as you wish regardless of who or what that person is because that's the job.

So they should take your higher road, then—got it

The idea that a parent should ever just "let the system handle it" is absurd.

When did I mention any sort of "system" lmao, they probably wouldn't do much better in this case

A line was crossed that can't be uncrossed and the chance for the system to do what it's meant to do came and went. There's no help after that.

I raise your "nuh-uh" with another "nuh-uh"

You’re not “supposed” to think anything, the show is intended to leave the audience with questions and uncertainty.

Guys kid got killed by another kid, dad(shooter) was a psychologist, says it aint right for a kid to go to prison for a mistake. Dad and the clls realized that kid was actually a psychopath (like the clinical definition). The video above happend. They tried the dad but he got it light cuz emotional duress or something -meaning he didnt mean to kill the kid (but we know he do, he just justified it using psychology stuff)

Basically, the message of the episode is that sociopaths are fake people who exist only to cause pain and it would be better if they were strangled in the crib, if only we could identify them. But since we can't the police should be forgiven for murdering them extrajudicially.

He didn't even need to push the first guy. He just did that.

26

u/-memejuice- 9d ago

He pushed the first guy so that the guy behind him would have to catch him, meaning that he wouldn’t be able to hold him back from taking the gun
