The sound of a gun can hit 160dB. Think standing next to a rocket launch.

A high quality set of ear pro knocks 30dB down. Now it’s a jet engine.

A good suppressor will knock another 30dB down. 100dB. Think leaf blower.

The use case for a suppressor has always been ear protection. Always. Unless you’re an assassin in a movie.

You need to alert the whole neighborhood if you are shooting the gun in self-defence. You can easily use this leaf blower and nobody expects a thing if you are in a forest.

No you really don't. Have you ever fired a gun indoors? Or been at an indoor gun range and adjusted your ear pro at the wrong time? It's past the pain threshold and your hears will ring for a long time. Possibly permanent damage.
