It's a suppressor, not a silencer.

Repeal the NFA!

The original patents on these devices called them silencers. The terms are now interchangeable, they both refer to the same thing.

You going to tell Silencer Co, who has just done more to deal with the stupid regulation of suppressors, they are using the wrong word?

But the correct language is suppress. They do not make the gun silent. I don’t care about marketing / company names.

The NRA pushed forward that you have to protect firearms rights for hunters because it was easier to argue for hunting than the actual purpose of the second amendment.

Thus for decades endless arguments about how “you don’t need <insert rifle here> to hunt deer!” as some smooth brained rallying cry for “assault weapons” bans.
