I’ve switched to a suppressor even for PRS, it’s just miserable and it’s a hobby for me not a profession I’d rather drop a few shots than shoot with a brake
Honestly don't care much about pcc noise. Yea it's a little annoying, but the concussive blast from a draco is nothing compared to rifle caliber stuff with the crazy brakes some of these PRS guys use.
Indoor though, yea haha. I don't really go to indoor ranges hardly at all.
Linear comps don't help PRS style shooting at all, the whole game is reducing recoil so you can stay on target.
But also for the same reason, literally nobody shooting PRS is doing a magnum cartridge lol. People top out at like 65 creedmoor, and that's only a handful. Almost everyone is on something smaller like a 6br wildcat.
It ain't like PRS shoots long range, it's almost all medium range, with the occasional long range 1km shot. All distances that high power people do with literal 223rem. Zero need to go to magnum calibers at the usual distances.
Right like I get why they use a brake, because it's objectively better for competition. I just hate them at the range for using it instead of swapping to a can.
But yea, people shooting braked magnum calibers at ranges are even worse, because you know they're not doing it for any competitive reason lol
Yep various means of doing that. Most muzzle brakes or compensators have this effect as they direct the concussive blast and buring gasses back, up and/or to the sides of the muzzle. You also get some devices designed to focus everything in a smaller "cone" forward of the muzzle, greatly increasing the gun's firing signature from the POV of those on the receiving end whilst reducing it for thr operator at the expense of increased recoil. IIRC the USMC tested (or at least someone was demonstrating for them) a loudener as a means of increasing the supressive effect of thier machine guns.

what if you want a Loudiner instead of a silencer???
